It's a long story, but in short, Bread was a name I gave to a cat that I used to own. He ran away one day when we moved though 3: and while using a name that I gave to a male cat for me is weird in context, I don't normally give the context, so it's totally fine! :D
2026 EDIT: Since I've settled on Brenna over the previous name, Breadette, I'd like to add a new paragraph explaining the various names I've experimented with. When I first, uh, "was" (it's a long story,) I didn't have my own name. I was just. Catgirl. At first, I was considered for the name "Flandre" (YES I'M SERIOUS,) but after some consideration, I decided to go with Bread instead. This stuck for a while, but then I entered... THE WORLD!!! And nobody's gonna call someone by a name that sounds like "bred", so what do you do? Portmanteau "Breast" and "Bread" together! YEAH THAT'S NORMAL SOBBING
Anyways, after spending a lot of time trying to come up with an actual name, in around 2024 or so I settled on Breadette, which is just "Bread" but with "-ette" suffixed onto it. And y'know what? It was good for the time. But as time went on, I became disatisfied with it. It was still derivative of the word "Bread", and it really, really sounded too much like a queer someone trying too hard to make a unique name, so I went back to the drawing board. After some Wiktionaring, I came up with Brenna, based on Brennan, which itself is derived from the welsh word for Crow. I like corvids.
