9th of June, 2026: WIP Website Overhaul

Here we go again... Again...

...Why?

To keep things simple, I found a far easier way to have a consistent website UI that doesn't rely on messy javascript. Sorry petrapixel dot neocities dor organisation!

Okay but how does it work

Well, it's simple! You have the html site that contains the header, footer, and sidebars, and then you have a script that loads another html file into the main content via a "search query", basically when you have smth like "?query=value" appended to the end of the link. And you've probably seen it before, as YouTube links do this for things like share link tracking, embedded video timestamps, stuff like that. Well, I can do the same thing here, but have the search queries be associated with the html file that gets loaded into the rest of the page. So everytime I make a new post, I can just type it into an empty file instead of having to copy from a template page with all of the messy code, and then I just need to edit the navigation content in the main html file to add a link for that new post. This also means that cachebusting isn't as big of a worry as it normally would. Of course I'd still like to have that available, but... uh. I'm having a hard time finding a good solution to that problem. The PROPER solution is to... Modify the http packets being sent to the broswer? Or something? But Neocities doesn't let you do that kind of stuff, and there doesn't seem to be a reliable way to bypass that. I'll figure it out though! For now though, you can visit the test site I've "made" for this stuff. Here. I should clarify though that most of this is just copy-pasted from the tutorial I found. Thankfully, said tutorial is linked on this page, so. Don't worry!

11 Month Anniversary!

Not as exciting as the upcoming one year anniversary, but I'm still proud of that! I'm gonna be working on getting this idea working whilst I also plan out how to improve the overall design of the site. I've been looking around at some neocities sites recently and I think that I'd like to have things be a bit more polished. Or at least a bit nicer to look at. Plus, I do have concerns about whether the site would even work for high-resolution monitors, so if I can work that out, it would help out a ton!

...That's all I have to say for now. No concepts or anything, I just discovered this a dayish ago and haven't thought about if I want to change anything or not. BUT IT WILL HAPPEN!!!
