New Website UI!

Cool, now why didn't you make this post when you updated the site earlier today?
(Because that was a test version that prioritized the site itself, rather than the small things.)

Yep, I finally got the website updated! It's mostly the same as in the image I shared in the previous post, but let's go through all the new changes, shall we?

New Navigation Bar!

The navigation har has been completely overhauled, and is now a lot more navigation-y!

First of all, a new homepage button has been added to the top, now taking up some of the space the header used to. If you're unsure where it leads to, it even tells you when you hover over it. How kind!

Afterwards are some general pages for you to visit. Well, one general page for you to visit, that being the Artworks page. It just contains all the artsy things I've shared in my posts, and will be updated as more stuff is added. As you probably noticed, the page is in the same directory as all of my other posts. That's so the html file size can be ever-so-slightly smaller for every image I add to it.

The Programs and Music pages are... Non-existent right now, for differing reasons. The Programs page will contain programs I've written, including games, while the Music page will contain links to music that I've written. These pages will be made once I have a program or legally protected music to put on them, respectively.

Oh yeah, while I'm on the topic of programming, I've completely redone the formatting for the <code> element, as I just demonstrated there. It now looks far more distinct, and can be coloured! Will be awesome if I ever share any VB.Net samples.

Public Sub Main()
Console.WriteLine("This is a demonstration!") 'Unbeknownst to the reader, the HTML for this is very, very messy.
End Sub

Nyo I'm not updating the older pages for this, that's just too much. Nyo.

There's also a button you can click on to email me. If you wanna. If that sounds confusing, you can just click those question marks to get sent to a link explaing my thought process there.

Finally, there's the posts section, which contains all the posts I've written. Thankfully, I didn't have to modify those very much. Yes, as time goes on, there will be lots of posts here, and I accounted for that; There's a scrollbar that'll show up when the length of the navigation bar exceeds the length of the page's main content.

Where's the blinkie?!

Don't worry, it's still there on every page, it's just sitting at the footer instead. I hope you remembered what a footer was. This is vital information for your upcoming test, you know.

Phones... :sob:

OK, so, the UI itself. It's much more narrow and compact, but will still scale based on your display width. The text currently does not scale, so it's gonna be real small on large displays still. I attempted to make the UI scalable, but uh.

Let's just say that text became unreadable on mobile devices...

Oh yeah, fun fact, I designed an alternate homepage button for narrower displays, but it's currently unused. Gonna add it to the site anyways, just to make sure that it doesn't cause any issues. Plus, I might need it back at some point. Who knows?!?

The borders and colours should be the same as the old UI. Though, the spacing between each grid section is smaller now, at 3 pixels. This makes the borders and gaps between them look much neater imo.

Finally, I have a couple of new classes for formatting headers now, those being "subtitleformat" and "titleformat", the latter of which allows me to have yellow title text.

Check-check it, yeah.

...I... I think that's it. Nothing else to say about this UI. At least, nothing that I can think of.
